I've been tanning for a couple of years, and I love it! One thing I do to keep my very large breasts from making tan lines is I lay on both sides. Try it next time you tan, and you will be able to feel where the bed is touching your skin. I have to do some manuvering, but my chest and sides of my breasts are very evenly tanned. Also, if you lay correctly on your side, you can prevent the wrinkles. I feel like I have ADD in the bed, lol. I turn into a contortionist. But it works for me! My fave tanning lotions are Playboy Boost Pink and Devoted Creations Special Reserve. They are amazing bronzers! And not streaky.
Oh, and if moving around in a bed breaks it, then that is one crappy bed! I have a friend who works in the tanning business, and the acrylic that you lay on is like, 2 inches thick! IT WON'T BREAK!
And the reason you're face doesn't tan is that it is the part of the body most exposed to the sun. They have lotions specifically for your face, and the beds that I use have face lights for extra U-V doses.

I don't tan often, but when I do (for events or vacations), I always use the Hempz brand dark tan maximizer. It gets me perfectly bronze in a couple weeks and I am naturally a fair olive complexion. To deal with some of the difficult spot issues I alternate between stand up and lay down beds. The stand ups generally hit areas that the lay down misses. But beware ladies! The stand up WILL tan your backside and hips a bit darker if you are curvy (they end up being closer to the bulbs). Hope that helps!

Hello, I have a residential tanning bed at home so my question is, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ABOUT HOW TO REDUCE STRIPING WHEN LAYING IN A BED THAT HAS LESS BULBS, like a 16 or 24 bulb bed. What I have been doing is just going to a salon once a week to lay in a bed with 48 bulbs to keep everything evened out. But I hate going and paying to lay when I could just do it at home for free!!! Even when I get nice and dark, I still have even DARKER stripes on my back, (or stomach). Is the best solution to just take turns laying on my back and stomach each time? ANYONE HAVE ANY TRICKS THAT I HAVEN'T ALREADY TRIED???

I have been tanning for quite sometime. I am having issues with keeping my large breast causing wrinkles under my chin. And the wrinkles are a lot lighter than the rest of me. It's quite annoying and quite painful to lay on them to keep them down out from under my chin. If I hold them down with my hands I get tan lines in the cease of my elbows. Any suggestions? They are out of control and could smother me.

I have trouble tanning my face and feet. I'm not that tall. Only 5'5 so my feet don't stick out of the tanning bed? But my feet are always really white. And another thing is my FACE. I can never get it to tan, it stays white while all the rest of my body (excluding my feet lol) gets tan!! Do you have any tips or suggestions to get them tanner? Any lotions you'd recommend?
Thanks!

Uh, yeah, Lacy, that's really bad. Did you read this article? The UV light still filters through your eyelids and can cause you blindness. I'm not sure if it will effect your eyelashes but since it can dry out hair I would guess it could do the same to your lashes.
It actually looks more natural if you have paler eyelids because when you're outside the sun wouldn't touch your lids, considering your eyes would be open.

I use Designer Skin: Masquerade. I am new to tanning, have only been going for a couple months now and i love it. It has really helped my skin turn a nice color. I think that you need to move up your exposure time, if youve gone 14 sessions of about 8 minutes each you should probably move up to about 12 or 15. I am very fair skinned and i moved up exposure very slowly, much slower than is reccomended and havent had any burning or anything.

Tanning burning question: Hi, I was just reading your tips on tanning and I had a question.I'm new to tanning and everything is coming out tan and nice but my upper back is burning all the time. I was needing to know, how do I get a tan there but keep it from burning. I've thought about laying face down but I'm afriad my chest will burn. Would a towel under my back help a little to keep all the uv rays from filtering through? Any information will be greatly appreciated. thank you some much, James
